ABOUT BOB FISHER & BOB FISHER MARINE:
I have been sailing ever since I was a kid in various centerboarders and crewing on bigger keelers while still at school. In 1997 I started working part-time for well known boatbuilding company Marten Marine (which later became Marten Yachts) building high performance prepreg race yachts. It was here that my boatbuilding career began, and after finishing school I moved on to study boatbuilding and yacht design at UNITEC Institute Of Technology Auckland in 1998, achieving 3 awards for my work: The UNITEC trust award for top overall student, a highly commended award for marine technology dept and the CoastDesign award for top design student. This planted the seed for my interest in design.
I decided to gain as much experience in the boat building industry before I started designing and so left Martens to work overseas with Americas Cup syndicate BMW Oracle in 2003, and then a brief stint with Nautical Contracting Ltd laying teak decks on superyachts. Returning from overseas in 2004, I came to work at Lloyd Stevenson boatbuilders building various projects from race yachts to luxury motor yachts. Drawing on Lloyds High standard of work I decided it was time to start something of my own and so I decided to pick up where I left off with yacht design. So after a few years crewing on various GBE's and local multi's we decided to build our own 8.5m cat, and 'Dirty Deeds' was born.
With over 10 years of extensive professional boatbuilding experience accompanied with a good understanding of racing multihulls both on paper and on the water, Bob Fisher Marine offers a complete design and build service to garauntee all work is done fast, effectively and to the highest possible standard. 'Dirty Deeds' has proven to be a successfull project and with several more in the pipeline I look forward to what the future offers.
